Top therapists in Austin, TX accepting new patients
Professionally, I have spent a decade in education (five years as a classroom teacher and five years as a school counselor). This is my third year as a therapist outside of the school setting.
For my masters degree, I attended Texas State University in San Marcos, TX (Eat 'em up cats!). At Texas State, I completed my MA in Professional Counseling with two focuses: school counseling and clinical mental health.
As a former educator, the populations I support include adolescents, young adults, educators, parents/guardians, and caretakers.
I love helping people navigate anxiety and the ups and downs of everyday life—because let’s be honest, it can get a little chaotic. I aim to create a space that feels supportive, nonjudgmental, and real, where you can be yourself. Along the way, I’ll help you gain insight, build tools, and maybe even share a few laughs as you grow into the version of yourself you’re working toward.
Hello, I'm a licensed professional counselor and supervisor based in Texas. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Texas and my master's degree in Psychology from Houston Baptist University. My focus is primarily on assisting teens and adults who face an array of challenges such as managing anger, coping with anxiety and depression, dealing with trauma/abuse, addressing relationship issues, and adapting to life changes.
With over 20 years of experience in community, inpatient, and outpatient behavioral health settings, I specialize in guiding individuals through a wide range of life challenges. I hold Master’s degrees in Education and Clinical Social Work and am licensed to provide therapy via telehealth counseling services (i.e., video and phone) in Virginia, Texas, Florida, and Louisiana.
I pride myself in being able to give women a male with whom they can trust and feel safe, provide men a listening ear devoid of judgment and offer adolescents a voice that speaks their language in a way that makes new concepts easily digestible.
Welcome. My name is Beatriz Alaniz or "Betty" and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. I provide a warm and welcoming environment with a focus on individuals who have experienced trauma, losses, grief, and relationship woes seeking healing. I believe in people's capability to be resilient in the face of adversity. I will work with you to make sure you can see yourselves as the resilient individual you are.
I work with a wide range of people, from healthcare professionals to artists, and I help you move from reacting to responding with more clarity and calm. My approach blends science and creativity, so our sessions feel both grounded and expansive. If you are ready to become a more engaged, resourceful version of yourself.
