Originally from California, I now happily call Austin, Texas home. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of the Incarnate Word, my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University, and I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a concentration in Neurofeedback Therapy.
Throughout my career, I have worked with clients ranging from 4 to 90 years old in nonprofit organizations, private practice, and correctional facilities. These diverse experiences have strengthened my ability to meet each client where they are and tailor therapy to their unique needs.
I believe that therapy is built on a foundation of trust, authenticity, and collaboration. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, supported, and empowered. I value the relationships I build with my clients and consider it a privilege to walk alongside them as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Hi, I’m Sharol Mejia. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, and I primarily work with teen girls and adult women navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I’m currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, and I bring both clinical training and genuine compassion into my work.
My approach is grounded in warmth, authenticity, and the belief that healing begins when you feel truly seen, supported, and understood. I believe meaningful change often happens in the small “glimmers”—the moments of courage, softness, and growth you allow yourself to experience, even when things feel heavy or uncertain.
When anxiety, painful experiences, or constant worry begin affecting your relationships, confidence, or daily life, it can feel like you're carrying more than anyone else realizes. You may be trying to hold everything together for your family while quietly struggling yourself, wondering if things will ever feel easier. Healing is possible, and you don't have to face those challenges alone. I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, grief and loss, and trauma so they can regain a sense of stability, strengthen their relationships, and move forward with greater confidence. With more than 13 years of experience, I work with adults, adolescents, and children, offering therapy in both English and Spanish while creating a compassionate, supportive environment where every client feels understood, respected, and empowered to grow.
I'm here to help others become their best self & humbled to help someone through their personal growth. Therapy is a safe space; together, I would like to support healing & allow change with grace.
